This is a Sheldon-261, which is a R-2 variety. The coin has ample detail and nice eye appeal, but is somewhat porous. It is an attractive coin for the price. This variety has the arcing die break that starts between the 8 and 0 of the date and goes through the hair and out the side to about 8 o’clock at the rim. This is notable because it is the die that was later reclaimed to make the 1804 unofficial restrike Large Cents circa 1860.
