How cool is this? It is a check of the North & Gardner Company which had a location on the isolated Island of Isle Royale, Michigan! Isle Royale was a copper mining site from prehistoric times up into the 19th century. It also served as a resort are in the 19th century. Today, Isle Royale is a National Park in the middle of Lake Superior about 50 miles north of the Keewenaw Peninsula. It is a beautiful and pristine area because its remote location limits visitors to the island.
