An admission ticket to the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. This is ticket number 453147 of ‘series V’ of which 500,000 were printed. These tickets were sold for admission to children ages 7 to 17. Series ‘V’ was a reduced ticket priced at 10 cents (instead of 25 cents). These were sold near the end of the fair from October 10 to October 21, 1893.
The World’s Columbian Exposition was held in the ‘White City’ on the south side of Chicago from May 1, 1893 to October 30, 1893. It was perhaps the premier event of the late 19th century in the United States.
