Faustina the Younger was the wife of Marcus Aurelius and daughter of Antoninus Pius. She was quite beautiful and she was not shy about using her attractiveness to further her interest in sailors and gladiators.
This coin was issued under the authority of her father Antoninus Pius. It was struck in Rome, AD 154-56. S-4704. Though well circulated, this is a well centered pleasing coin.
Obverse: FAVSTINA AVG PII AVG FIL. Faustina’s draped bust, right.
Reverse: CONCORDIA. Concordia Seated left holding flower and resting on cornucopia.
