Iceland, 2000, 1000 Kronor, Proof

This commemorative issue marks the 1000th anniversary of Leif Ericcson’s voyage to North America.  It was issued as part of a two coin group by the U.S. Mint to commemorate this occasion.  It was the last coin struck by the U.S. Mint for a foreign country.
